THE JOURNEY
Along this path of discovery, I'll be sharing a home study exercise and the findings below will be for all to read. The main topics are shared at the bottom of each week, linking to posts on timelines for History, Animal Guides and Healing, plus other points for discussion and ongoing study.
I will use these blog pages to reflect on at a future date to see how I've progressed. This post will be added to and updated in accordance with the information presented in the Pathways coursework. :)
{One note to self and to all reading these publicly available posts – there are many words and ways to describe simple methods. The descriptions, expansive explanations and links are here for all to take what they need, resonate with to evaluate, store and then discard.}
April 19-20 Homework Week 1
1. Pennies from heaven (ongoing updates)
– I found two old pennies on the way to Pathways on 10th May 2025!
– I always look out for lucky coins and give them to a friend for luck that never ends. :)
– I found another two pennies, one old and one new, just as I was having thoughts about money and security, a real blessing on 4th June 2025!
– I found a 1 cent coin on my doorstep 8th June 2025!
2. How We Impact Others
I always look at other people's behaviour based on how they interact with me, to then see how I can interact with them in a better way according to their personality preferences. The Enneagrams helped me.
We all project. Our friends and partners are projections of what we want. Our parents are projecting their ideals and desires for what they want their kids to be.
I know what it feels like to be misunderstood and so I never judge a book by its cover as I personally know how I'm perceived in many ways that can be witnessed as opposite to how I am feeling or what I am enjoying at the time.
We can all embody the inner child and I aim for lightness and play to avoid most of the trappings of being falsely perceived, avoid being offended, protect others from my (at times) direct nature and I can just 'be' without taking things too seriously.
2.2 Sacredness. To avoid being overly-critical, I also look at everyone as 'God' or as an expression of the divine, so I can appreciate their beauty as part of my connection to unity and be at one with the mystery of life without always trying to understand it or form judgment.
3. Healing
Q. What is Healing?
A. Healing is a process.
3.1 The List of healings and which healing modalities could be said to be of best value:
1. No.1 – Awareness. Being aware of what harms, means we can avoid the things that make us ill. Free.
2. Breath. The greatest healer. Without being aware, breath is overlooked as the most important thing for healing and health. Healing breaths are those that fill the lungs and those that empty the lungs. Free.
3. Movement. Moving the energies around the body and keeping the functions of the body through movement, including exercises and breath, to remove waste and contaminants. Free.
4. Nature. Alignment with nature is paramount. Taking walks in the sunshine, getting the heart rate up and sweating, deep breathing – all come from the same awareness of being aligned to nature for healing. Free.
4. Nutrition. Diet awareness and action, including clean food and drink. Cheap. Difficult to do in a modern world with so many problems with the way food is grown and processed, but with self-awareness, research and critical thinking, healing is achieved through decisions made.
5. Integrity of Action. Following a lifestyle of good movement, correct breathing, balanced nutrition and mindfulness will ensure we do the right things to make ourselves happy, healthy and wise. Free.
6. Purges. When we've not been so on top of awareness, haven't moved enough in nature, not got the heart rate up and breathed well, nor released stuck energies through mindful action, we can purge. The liver Cleanse is the best value for money. It costs less than £20 and because the liver performs 500+ different essential functions, it will save our lives, extend life and reverse chronic illnesses if we perform this process early enough.
7. Fasts. The body restores itself if we allow it the space and time to do it. Fasting allows the digestive system to repair (three days) and the lymphatic system to drain, the liver to release and the lungs to have less waste to purge. Free.
8. Holidays. Taking a break from our minds, from our heavy toil and getting away from the stresses, is the best form of healing. Can be Free. Taking breaks from our jobs, away from our partners and families can also be good for us.
9. Meditation. This form of healing links to holidays above and also to no.1 awareness. It is also the form of Astral travel we call sleep and can be any type of mindful relaxation, coming from walking in the park, meandering on a bike ride or even performing repetitive tasks at the gym. Free. A holiday from the mind.
We can also direct our mind to where we need to heal and use our hands and intention to heal ourselves and others using this universal form of healing.
Healing Modalities & Therapy Sessions
If we are talking about the modalities of healing – I wouldn't know where to start on which are the best.
– Energy healing: Reiki and electrical healing, such as grounding and laying on of hands, that also includes moving stuck energy via massages, acupuncture, cupping, acupressure of feet and hands, sacral cranial and forms of osteopathy and chiropractic skeletal therapies.
– Sound immersion: Gong showers, drumming & rattling, Crystal and Tibetan bowls around and on the body. Great for shaking out the stuck vibrational energies and resetting the emotions.
– Vibrational therapies: Tuning forks and using the above instruments to bring correct resonance back.
– Hypnosis: Self-hypnosis using sound immersion, binaural beats, drum patterning and meditation chanting, Oms and mantras.
– Talking & sharing: Having someone to listen and not judge. Simple healing. Can be more advanced by using psychotherapy and a number of techniques, including journeying and regression to a child, such as in Shamanic journeying practices.
– Kiniesiology. Tapping into the program code of life. Using the muscle tests and by putting different substances in our energy field, we can detect what the universe is telling us. Much like Wilhelm Reich, Royal Rife, Hulda Clark and Don Croft, Jerry Tenant and a number of other healing practitioners have revealed, we can detect the causes of low energy, by being in the vicinity of (or simply be asking the subconscious and universe), what is causing a lack of power and draining vitality. Another form of energy healing. For more info, including links to books and research, please see the link below.
3.2 The following are some concepts about what Healing is and how it can be activated.
– With healing, we need to have an awareness of it as a process.
– We then have to be in the right external environment and have the right internal conditions for the process of healing to take place.
– Healing can be a permission when we let go of the things preventing healing.
– Healing is compassion for oneself and we become a conduit for healing when we are open to compassion.
– Healing comes from a place of love - which is a gravitational divine feminine energy.
– We can activate healing through the 'WILL'. It needs a 'positive' mental charge and frequency to power up the healing process.
– A healing balance in scientific terms is called 'homeostasis' or it can be the 'anabolic' process (build up of new cells) as opposed to the catabolic (breakdown) of cells. These two conditions are activated by 'programs' of which we release serotonin, melatonin and other hormones to regulate and maintain healthy balance.
– Healing can happen passively when we are relaxed, healthy and happy (positive mindset).
– Healing can take place quicker and better when we allow the right programs to run – which are activated through mindfulness and wilfulness to allow healing.
– The right chemical pH for healing is alkaline – around 7.32- 7.34 pH. (This links to Hz and BPM.)
– The energy of Nature called the Schumann Resonance, is said to be from 3Hz around 7.83Hz, 14.3, 20.8, 27.3, and 33.8 Hz. These seem to be around the Hz frequencies of Theta, Alpha, Beta and High-Beta.
– We are beings of light in a physical body that requires electricity to function.
– The right voltage for healing is around 50MVs with 25MVs being enough for good function.
– Lack of function is due to a pollution of the body fluids, blockages of the body filters, lack of energy from the sun and the nutrients we need and from a deeper spiritual and emotional malaise that harbours all the functions of the endocrine system.
– Sleep allows for 'powering-down' of the 12 energy meridians (AKA battery capacitors), to in-turn carry our repairs on each of the systems of which we have working in pairs.
– People who operate in their mostly left-habd logic and academic brain during the day, can experience vivid dreams at night time as the right hemisphere takes over running of the system. Healing will be experienced through resting cognitive function and doing something creative.
– People who work mostly in the limbic system for jobs in conventional healing and especially working with the elderly and very young, may need to take alternative measures of healing - like reading fantasy novels or watching trash TV.
– For those operating in manual fields, they will need to heal more through good nutrition, restful sleep and periods away from stress – like a holiday or taking up other hobbies that are more mind and heart based pursuits.
– With healing, we cannot heal others, as it is up to them – and without the person first being open to the possibility of healing, we may only be a catalyst for finding the right environment, setting the conditions and providing a pathway with easy first steps to take, for the individual to progress along their healing journey.
– Healing is an energetic balance which requires stored resources and the ability to take in new 'charge' of the energy from our sun and from the foods and water that nature provides. This is the main healing
– Healing requires clear channels for ridding the body of waste, to ensure the filter organs like the liver, the lungs, the kidneys, the colon and the skin are all able to process and expel waste
– Healing also requires that we let go of stuck energy, painful emotions and thoughts that are not serving us.
– All energies are based on the fundamental principles of electromagnetism which have a masculine, feminine and a neutral point.
– As in electronics, there are positive, negative, neutral, dielectric, plus inverted versions of positive, inverted negative and inverted dielectric charges – aka 'false positive/false negative, either/or and neither.
– The same forces of electromagnetism and the different states of charge can be witnessed in the way people express themselves physically, morally, sexually and emotionally.
– In psychology we have the psyche and the shadow, the anima and the animus and we have extreme versions of damaged people who are operating inverted to normal function, which we call psychopathic, narcissistic and machiavellian – AKA The Dark Triad.
– Healing comes from being in balance with the forces of nature to embody the energies we call 'Prana or Qi or Orgone'.
– Healing can be broken down as 'He' – 'El' – 'ing': He: Heart, El: Saturn and ing: the verb for moving the energy of the Sun through the Solar Plexus, down to the lower chakra where Saturn and Uranus reside.
– Heel-ing also means taking God's light of 'Heaven' down into the soil of the Earth, out through the heel of the feet. This is called 'Grounding'

4. Different Styles of Drum
Drums made from animal skins vary from one indigenous culture to another. The Tibetan and Himalayan tribes from Phurba, Nepal created Goat skin Dhangro Dhami Shaman Medicine and Healing drums which also contained beads and some use a beaded tail to play on rotation.

Nepalese drums incorporate the healing stick or 'Vajra Healing wand' in the handle of the drum. The drums are placed over the sick person, with the stick directed at the injured person in the area that needs healing.
Native American powwows, West African djembe drums, and the rhythmic Taiko drumming combines elements of all tribal drums with deep resonance for healing and energising.
The Djembe is made of different woods with the wood of the Cache tree being of the most sought after, now protected and only sourced through tribal elders. The different woods make for the most resonant sounds, with different treatments of the goatskin and different thicknesses providing the deep bass and the accent notes. Other skins are used such as deer, stag, elk and bear.
4.2 Reading: 'When the Women Were Drummers' is a real eye opener of how drums were intrinsic to the healing energies.
Offering pouches tend to be made of soft leather and traditionally for celtic cultures, contain herbs, oats and salt. Salt is seen as a sacred offering. Laying down with respect on the ground, offerings of this kind, is seen as a respectful way of honouring the land – especially when exchanging for other items collected.
6. Feather & Protected Birds
There are hundreds of birds protected under the migratory birds laws from North America, which include species of birds from around the world. It is generally illegal to buy and sell feathers, and those caught importing feathers without a license can face heavy fines and jail time. Etsy seems to have found a way around these rules – or perhaps are colouring and classifying chicken feathers as exotic birds...
A list of some of the protected birds whose feathers are illegal for trade and possession numbered below:
1. Amur Falcon
2. Osprey
3. Albatros
4. Condor
5. White Tailed Eagle
6. Long Legged Buzzard
7. Kingfisher
8. Spectacled Eider
9. Steller's Eider
10. Snowy Owl
7. Stones & Bones
I've collected some stones from the places that have deeper meaning to me, such as the beaches of Margate, Eastbourne and Seaford, with some stones that also look like fossilised bones! I also take the wish bones from our Sunday family appreciation meals (with gratitude prayer before eating) to a special tree on a crossroads in our local park, which has a split trunk and an area in the centre of the tree to leave blessings of gratitude.
7.1 Medicine Pouch
The Pouch I have created now has totems that have been worn close to my body, natural items for connection to spirits and my bird guide allies.
8. Ceremony of Manifestation Around A Meal
I first created a space for a ceremony to bring us guidance and good fortune for a house move. We began with a calling in of the elements, with thanks to the wise ones, guides, spirits and angels.
> We lit a candle.
> We sang a chant to bring in the guides.
> We gave thanks for guidance and sat in silence for 10 minutes while I played a soft drum pattern
> We linked hands and repeated a set of affirmations
Life is Good
Life is Easy
All great things come to us!
The ceremony was closed with thanks and gratitude offered up to the spirits, guides, our ancestors, teachers and we took a few breaths with prayer in gratitude.
We fed the pigieons on the window sill as we ate then took the wish bone to our sacred tree and gave the chicken carcass to the fox later at night where we know they come in from the railway line, saying thanks again.
8.1 Feedback: My partner was open to ceremony and we already have prayer and gratitude on our sound immersion sessions and in our community gifting workshops. We had an outdoor session in the park and I led the ceremony to open and close.
Generally, it's now accepted that we put our intention, our gratitude and love into everything we do. we also lay our hands over food and bless it Reiki-style, with the bringing together of hands in silent honour of the plants and animals that have become the food. I have tried to talk to my parents and certain friends about celebrating life in this manner, watching as eyes glaze over and they get all nervous and twitchy when prayer is mentioned. I understand, I used to be like that too!
8.2 Rituals
– Morning rituals involve the first waking moments, by taking note of the dreams, their meanings and taking time in this in-between waking and sleep state to check-in with he body and plan the day.
– Teeth brushing has become a 2-minute brushing ritual.
– Gentle exercise routine: press-ups and planks, Qi Gong.
– Making new batches of water and blessing the water.
– Extracting the Kefir to take the live yogurt and greet, bless, thank my helpers.
8.3 Ceremony
– Blessing the water batches made, stirring anti-clockwise with a coiled copper spoon, pouring into a container and chanting 'Om Mani Ped Me Hum'.
– Walking to the park forms part of the ceremony, as the intent is to connect with nature.
– Leaving blessings at the tree on the crossroads, plus greeting animals I meet (using non-verbal pictures and expressions).
– Planting wish bones and food for animals, with gratitude and blessings.
– Lighting a candle at the altar and giving thanks for the guidance and protection in meditation.
8.4 Deepen connection to bloodline ancestors and heritage
– Visiting family in Cornwall where my Aunty lives and where my great Uncle was buried, where my partner's family are buried. Honouring the pictures of passed loved ones.
– Thinking of those who have passed before and a quiet moment to remember and connect.
– Having pictures of family close by and realising the origins of the family through the name and linage.
– Dream diary reveals many animals, people and situations.
Recent dreams:
> The first night after the workshop, I dreamt of a dark night with all the buildings burning as I looked across the horizon, seeing the flames against a dark sky, with the lava from an earthquake and a live volcano rising to consume everything. It was very lucid as I was able to look all around me. Symbolising a big change perhaps?
> The next night I was tickling under the chin of a crocodile. Symbolising playing with a strong force, which I'm making friends with?
My Dream Diary will be added to this link here

9. Altars
Q. How many alters are there at Caer Cohrain?
We counted a dozen on the last day, but then we collectively numbered every small artefact we found that could be considered a place of focus and representation, which meant more than 15+ potential alters around the immediate vicinity – possibly many more around the garden too! THERE IS ONE ALTAR called Caer Cohrain.
9.1 At Home
Q. How many alters are in our home?
A. We have a main altar in the hallway with feathers, pictures, crystals, candles, incense and a number of important keepsakes. I have a candle by the bed and a number of totems from Egypt, Germany and Cornwall. I also have pendants, jewellery, pictures and other totems on the dresser and the kitchen table and the shelves also have a number of items of focus.
9.2 Friend's Altars
Q. How many alters in friends' and family's houses?
A. Every picture on the walls is of the family and of the people they are close to and special occasions they have enjoyed. My parents have multiple pictures of the family everywhere.
9.3 Unintentional alters –
These will be little trinkets and keepsakes, the items holding objet d'arts and other points of focus. There are good luck charms on window sills and every mantle piece in my parents house.
10. Timelines Through the Ages In This Land
I'm drawn to history as it was one of my favourite topics in school. My History teacher was always getting us to question history with a critical mind and he also had a pretty daughter our age who I used to wind him up about taking on a date. I was given extra coursework on a regular basis – partly as punishment, but I think as a test of my suitability for his daughter – maybe that last bit was in my mind only lol.
10.1 History is 'His Story' – It is written by the winners. There are periods in history that don't match up with the timelines and there are artefacts and architecture remaining today that show a different kind of history than we are led to believe happened, involving huge stone structures with blocks too heavy to lift even today, deep layers to structures underground that would involve massive resources and heavy machinery, laser technology that would be impossible or way too expensive to build today. There are types of cement (Portland) and hard stone polished materials (geo-polymers) that cannot be created as well today – or are mimicked, without the same levels of precision and elegance of what was created (allegedly) thousands of years ago.
I will attempt to write these stories up of history as creatively as I find them in 'fact'.
Below we can see an official timeline of the UK based on the information that AI and Wikipedia has created for us. These are timings that which have some resonance but are somewhat difficult to confirm.
When we go to AI for answers about history, it draws on Wikipedia for the official narrative. If the sources are off, then we will receive conflicting and incorrect information. See at the bottom of this section for my alternative research and an even more far-out theory!
> 10,000 BC: End of the last Ice Age; Mesolithic hunter-gatherers settle Britain.> 4000 BC: Neolithic farmers arrive; agriculture, stone monuments (like Stonehenge) emerge.> 2500–800 BC: Bronze Age; development of metal tools, early tribal societies.> 800 BC–43 AD: Iron Age; Celtic culture dominates; hillforts are built.> 43–410 AD: Roman Britain; Britain becomes a Roman province, towns and roads are built.> 410–1066: Anglo-Saxon period; Roman rule ends, Germanic tribes (Angles, Saxons, Jutes) settle, Christianity spreads.> 793–1066: Viking Age; Norse invasions, Danelaw established in parts of England.> 1066: Norman Conquest; William the Conqueror defeats Harold II at the Battle of Hastings.> 1066–1485: Medieval Britain; feudalism, Magna Carta (1215), Hundred Years' War, Wars of the Roses.> 1485–1603: Tudor period; Henry VIII's Reformation, Elizabeth I's reign, beginnings of empire.> 1603–1714: Stuart period; English Civil War, execution of Charles I (1649), Glorious Revolution (1688), constitutional monarchy.> 1714–1837: Georgian era; Industrial Revolution starts, British Empire expands.> 1837–1901: Victorian era; peak of the British Empire, major social, scientific, and industrial changes.> 1901–present: Modern Britain; two World Wars, decline of empire, development/decline into a multicultural democracy/tyranny.

My personal take on history is that time is an illusion – There is only The Now. Even the science champions 'Simulation theory' where the past can be affected in the present moment by influencing the future, activated through intention and manifestation made within the 4th dimension of infinite possibility. Probability tests show how 'enlightened gurus' such as 'GrandMaster Wolf' can influence probability and affect future outcomes. We are the creators of our reality and we can travel back and forward in time to wherever our creative minds can imagine us to be (or pick up from the Akashic Library.)

May 10-11: Homework Week 2
11. Practice Shamanic Drumming:
Did a few practices to get the rhythm right. realised I'd been using a different heartbeat rhythm for sound therapy! Tiredness allows for default brain behaviours to be chosen - another factor to be aware of when beginning a journey with mindfulness and intent!
Tried different ways to play and drum when describing the process, plus I tried with a description broken by playing. Did a couple of drumming sessions at home on my own – the neighbours must love me lol. I enjoyed the experience, but was listening out for bangs on the floor or the front door while keeping consistency. Outcome: Will find outdoor spaces to practice more.
11.1 Journey For Self
Practiced before a healing session with a volunteer, to receive guidance and empowerment
Group sound immersion with Drum Journey:
In the park on 1st June, played around with different methods of playing consistently with description banter and then performed a journey practice. Feedback was very good on sound quality and consistency.
11.2 Group Power Animal retrieval:
In the afternoon, I led a 10 minute Power Animal retrieval drum jouneying session at the balham Spiritualist Church with two other drummers, including a 30+ years sound healer, musician and shaman guy we were hosting called 'White Dove' (pictured above), with my Dear drum, his Dhangro Dhami Medicine drum and Cathy's Horse drum. There were 14 people in the room. Black panthers, foxes a bear and a horse were met on the journey! It went really smoothly this time and everyone was happy with the experience! I was impressed with myself how well it went!
11.3 Shamanic Journey to retrieve power animal
My first journey session was with my friend Gemma in Ibiza 20th May who found her power animal. The second person is next Friday 13th June with my friend Sara as part of a healing case study. A third will follow..
12. Stalking
I've been practising this in Sainsbury's. Feels a bit weird – only doing to men. I'm also trying to be hidden from the security guard, but it makes me want to try and lift something lol.
YES! I left a party and went home without anyone noticing. Athough they did question if I'd gone early the next day and wasn't sure if they'd seen me or not.
This has been my favourite game in Sainsbury's lol.
I haven't only just managed to predict when someone will go (or make them go) – but I can get them to scratch their ear as if stroked by someone and to turn around when I'm staring at the back of their heads!
Haven't managed to find a fox at twighlight to stalk yet - BUT - I did track a fox that was hnging around my garage and stayed up with him for a few streets as he cut through people's gardens. When I called to him, he was startled, showing he hadn't spotted me!
Psychic Release – A reading on 21st May by a renowned mystic Julie Cook said I was able to work on my own merits, that I didn't have to only support my partner in her work. She mentioned some other things that were difficult to cold read – and they are facets of my psyche which are holding me in limbo.
Medicine Bag – I found a horse hair bag and have filled it with my medicine tools. I have my first client to test the tools I have learned and practised on the 11th June. I feel more confident in my abilities and committed to embracing my new-found skills, to develop them and not be afraid to leave behind the old corporate world of advertising.
Power Animal Guide – When I was feeling stuck for what to base my homework on that would have significance and value on the Pathways Journey, I asked for guidance and was immediately drawn to the pigeon outside my window – a revelation! I was going to look up man's connection to pigeons over the years. How clear was this guidance and how right was the decision to research Pigeons, the birds that are everywhere and of such powerful shamanic significance, to mankind and to me!
June 7-8: Homework Week 3
13. Incubation Of Dreams
Dream incubation is known as “the practice of going to a sacred place to sleep for the purpose of obtaining a useful dream from a god.” This can also be achieved through 'Active Meditation' or Lucid Dreaming and a form of Astral Projection. Teas and herbs can be ingested – is short, any technique (or combination of techniques) that that is engendered to bring on the desired dream. These are the methods for actively connecting to other non-physical realms or dimensions and consciously experiencing or remembering the journey.
All are wilful directions and instructions, like a computer program works perhaps, placed into the subconscious for the purpose of seeking divination and guidance. Meanings will vary depending on how the dream is received and interpreted – and in ancient times, this could be done by consulting someone in an 'official capacity' or other worshipers at the site. Personally, asking strangers to interpret personal dreams seems akin to asking strangers to diagnose symptoms being felt from some kind of malaise – both of which can be better investigated and known by the one having the experiences...?
13.1 History
The idea of sleeping to access dreams where the Gods can be reached, comes from the ancient Greeks, and THE DREAM TEMPLE OF ASKLEPIUS. A healing space for the Spirit. The highest healing , it was claimed, would be following a visit from the The God Asklepius (also Sarapis, Isis – plus Imhotep and Amenhotep of Egyptian origin). Scribes at the time well documented the healings that took place and it was claimed that a response could come over an extended period of time or healing would be achieved, even when many 'convetional' physicians had tried without success.
The word Incubation means 'to lie upon' and the sacred skin called a Klinie is where we get the word clinic from. The temples were places where inspiration for dreaming and for healing, would inspire the dream for the dreamer and to then form healing as reality upon waking.
Greco Romans, ancient Egyptians and early Christians all used healing temples for accessing over realms in their healing practices. The ancient healing temples, called 'Asclepieions', are still today visited by people seeking healing from incubation of dreams. The Caduceus icon for healing is also linked to the snake staff that Asklepius carried.
Books I've been revisiting and investigating on Dream Incubation (I had a few talks with Sarah Janes about coming to give a talk at one of our events) include 'Initiation into Dream Mysteries' by Sarah Janes, 'Healing dream and ritual – ancient incubation and modern', by Carl Alfred Meier and Where Dreams may come', by Gil H Renberg.
13.2 Differences between Vision Quest and Incubation of Dreams
Vison Quests are performed while awake, conscious and can potentially be received with eyes both open or closed. Incubation of dreams are visions, messages and healing said to be received from 'gods', guides and from some sources on this topic, spirit guides and the undead (including entities/beings of the the underworld).
Vision quests are decided upon by those seeking to have a spiritual experience. The person will find a place to self-reflect, with longer periods of isolation, fasting, no water intake and by being exposed to heat (sweat lodge), the participant can have profound visions and experience transformative changes.
Incubation of Dreams can last for longer periods of time and healing temples would have special places for those attending to inspire dreams and to connect with guides, with messages received that could be interpreted by scribes at service in the healing temples.
13.3 Different Herbs/plant spirits of this land that can help with dreams
Mugwort is a powerful herb used to enhance dreams and for lucid dreaming. Used with hot baths, teas, or as an incense to stimulate the imagination for lucid dreaming.
Chamomile is known for soothing the nerves. It can be used in ritual baths or teas to help promote relaxation and dream recall.
Lavender is a known for its calming properties. As an essential oil or with incense, it ca help promote relaxation and enhanced dream recall.
Hops can also be used to promote relaxation plus it is useful for dream recall after deep sleep.
Valerian is grown in Europe (and North America) – a calming herb often used to promote relaxation. It can also be used to enhance states of lucid dreaming.
13.4 Dream Diary
Here is my dream diary blog post with descriptions and an attempt to work out the meaing.
13.5 Make own incense
I've been using a combination of sage and frankincense with dried plants taken from the park, kept on the alter and for smudging ceremonies, with a combinations of herbs and flowers instinctively sourced for specific purposes to see if I can remove the analytical brain.
Here is a mix created for our (pending) house move:
To bless the new home and bring about some clarity, energy and motivation, plus to clear anxieties, I gathered some of the dried plants and herbs we had available for a mixing ceremony.
I used some of the following:
– White Sage: Cleansing stuck energies
– Rosemary: Reduce Stress
– Bay Leaf: Reduce anxiety
– Pine Needle:
– Cloves
– Frankincense
– Fenugreek leaf (A small amount from the alter)
The uses and benefits were looked up afterwards. Pleasantly surprised by the aroma and the ingredients fitting the requirements!
Update: Tuesday 8th July. We just blessed the house today with cleansing ceremony in each of the rooms.
13.6 Craft a Medicine Bag
I've made a leather case to hold my insence and offerings
13.7 Craft a talking stick
I've made a nice stick with oiled finish and added rabbits fur, leather handle and feathers.
13.8 Practice Shamanic Journey Technique
Have sourced a number of power animal journeys now for myself, partner and friends.
I'm looking now at doing a regular clinic for donations, to experience drum patterning as well as the clinic for gong showers. Outside in the park over summer will be a great place to offer without the overheads and being in nature will surely add to the experience...
13.9 Do a Power Animal Retrieval Journey and do a drum power animal journey for them to meet animal for themselves.
Have performed both on friends.
June 28-29: Homework Week 4
14. Group Soul Flight Journey to look at the weather forecast. Add individual and group findings.
Rob put himself forward to collate the findings. Both lan and James took initiatives to organise the times using a poll and to connct on WhatsApp.
Here's mine:
I am sitting in the dark, curtains closed.
Had a silent check in at 2 mins before 7pm.
Set the date for 19th at Caer Cohrain.
Opened the calendar and opened the map.
Visualised the space.
My initial thought came almost immediately as bit cold and rain. The number 19 came to me.
Then I checked in again with 19th – and confirmed it was July.
Next image that came through was clouds parting with sun shining through.
Then I asked again and saw myself driving up on the morning of the 19th July, it had been wet – was markedly cooler than previous visit. 19º popped into mind for the morning at 8-10am. With highs later in the day reaching up to mid-20’s.
I ran through in my mind all the faces and saw everyone drumming with intent focus.
I then looked at lunchtime and we were sitting outside in a flat light.
No glaring heat, no big shadows and again cooler.
Not very sunny.
Picturing leaving in the van on the lane, the clouds were parting to reveal the sun.
My weather forecast:
Showers overnight with cool start.

14.2 Soul Flight for individual. To find a missing item using remote viewing.
My house mate (tennant) has lost her expensive vape. I did a soul flight to see if it could be seen in the house I rent rooms to her and two others and see if it's lost somewhere in the house.
Sunday 6th July
Connected to the drum. Opened ceremony with a candle and honouring the guides. Set intention to access the middle realm for Soul Flight retrieval of a lost vape.
Immediately I saw what looked like a vape on the floor around light material, with small legs like those of a side table. While I was doing the soul flight, I had a sensation of being stuck in a tunnel – before realising I was under a bed! The vape will be either on the floor around the bed or under it...waiting to hear back.
15. Work on the shadow.
I'm using the direct and question approach – literally adding exclamation marks and question marks to my sentences in my head! More conscious of the hands moving around and keeping palms open – no pointing! I love my shadow – despite it being the twerp that gets me in trouble – got to shine light on it right?!
16. More journeying work
I've been doing a 15 minute drum session regularly to get used to the point when I balance with lucid state and flow state playing the drums. Feels like I'm getting longer moments in the 'sweet spot'. My neighbours must love me!
17. have I completed all written and practical homework.
YES. I believe so...?
18. Has the course changed me and if so, how?
This course has been profound! I've learned so much. I know I am only on the beginning steps of this journey, but I feel the connections to other states or other worlds – beings and guides – are there. Early shoots, but I'm finding out more each day about the power of my drum, the power of the herbs and plants, the power of connection to self and others as well.
Because I've now openned up to the world of spirits, ancestors and guides, this new direction is also making me more distanced from the people in my life in a way. For instance, the normal everyday things we talk about and do just seem irrelevant now – and my friends/family living in the other world have eyes which observably glaze over whenever I attempt to explain what this course is or share what any of the new discoveries and things I now call 'work' (service) so interest me or are about.
The group on this Pathways will surely now be the people I can really connect with on this journey. Can't wait to learn more and apply the learnings in beneficial ways! Thank you to everyone on this journey and of course to my teachers Lynn and Bruce 🙏🏼
